PR-8 Senda de los Moriscos – Umbría de Ricote is one of the most complete and rewarding hiking trails in the Valle de Ricote. This circular route of approximately 8 kilometres begins next to Restaurante El Sordo and passes through some of the Region of Murcia's most distinctive landscapes, combining nature, history, mountains and traditional orchards in a single itinerary.
The trail leads through the historic centre of Ricote, along rural tracks, mountain paths and ancient orchards that still preserve the character of the traditional landscape inherited from the valley's Andalusian past. Throughout the route, the official PR trail markers guide visitors through an environment rich in natural, cultural and historical heritage.
Along the way, hikers can enjoy outstanding viewpoints such as Mirador del Solvente and Mirador de Fuente Buena, together with panoramic views over the Valle de Ricote, the Blanca Reservoir, the former public washhouse and La Calera Hostel, nestled among the pine forests of the Sierra de Ricote.
